Hey everyone, the big day has come and we would like to introduce you to Six. Six is the Project 6 mascot and he will be helping us make this experiment fun and extremely interesting to watch. Believe me, you will be addicted to watching Six's adventures on his trip around the world.

Wait a second, did we just say "trip around the world"? Yep, TRIP AROUND THE WORLD.

Little Six here is going to embark on a trek around the world, and here is the kicker.....it is via your social networks that Six will make it around the world. This is your chance to get involved, meet Six and introduce him to your friends and family.

How is this going to work? Well, Six will start his trip in Las Vegas visiting eBay Live! and then he has a few pre-determined stops to make throughout the US, but after that last stop, it is entirely up to your social networks to get him the rest of the way. He will be making 66 stops in total. No there is no deeper meaning to that, so please do not read into it. This is a project in 6 degrees of separation, so everything we are doing is being done in 6's and a 6 stop trip around the world would be pretty lame if you ask us. ;)

Six will have an instructional letter that accompanies him on his journey telling whoever gets him next all about our experiment and directing them to one of our two websites. They will then draw a little picture on Six or just sign their name and then send him off to someone that they know whom they are sure will not ruin Six's big trip. If it does get into hands like that, we will simply ask that person to contact us directly and we will try to help them do whatever to get Six to his next destination. Whether it be trying to track down someone else in the city within which they live that would like to be involved, or possibly sending them money for postage. Whatever it takes to get Six moving along and one step closer to home.

What else is there to know.....
Well, Six will be posting random thoughts from his trip, sharing experiences, and posting photos of all the places that he has been and the people he has met, right here in this blog as well as on his Myspace Page. (which you can see here http://www.myspace.com/itsarecord

We will be posting an eBay auction tomorrow with many more pictures of cute little Six to help raise funds for his big journey. Essentially, Six will hopefully be getting his first "tattoo" from a sponsor and these two sites will soon be sponsored as well. Check back tomorrow for the link.

Well Thursday is the big day, sort of........ ;)

Let's just say it involves our mascot, 66 points on the map, hopefully each and every one of you and your friends the world over!!! Sounds like someone is taking a trip to me........


The day we announce exactly what is going on, we will have more information specifically for all of you that have been our friends from the beginning on how you can get involved and be the first to start something quite fun and unique.

I am the blog dedicated to an experiment in word of mouth over the internet.

Over the next 3 weeks, we will be marketing an "event" that will take place on June 1st and will last for 5 days time. Absolutely anyone can get involved, as our "event" will take place via the internet and will involve nothing more than visiting a very popular webpage. So don't worry about major time commitments ;)

As we mentioned already, the whole purpose of this experiment will be to gauge just how quickly word of mouth spreads via the internet and to show exactly how connected the world truly is. Call it a huge game of "6-degrees to Kevin Bacon" if you want. So please let us know you are watching and waiting patiently for further instructions. Tell us where you're from, what you do, who/what you like, whatever.......just let us know you are out there and that you look forward to helping us with our experiment. Be sure to stay posted and check back on June 1st to find out what to do next in order for us to get our experiment off the ground. We will post everything on our main homepage for the world to see and update the progress frequently via blogs, so feel free to sign-up if you want in order to stay connected or just check back often.

Please direct as many people as you possibly can to this page so that when the announcement is made on the morning of June 1st, we can start spreading the word as quickly as humanly possible (or otherwise) . We know the purpose, but what is the goal of your little experiment? Well, you will just have to wait until June 1st to find out, but you won't want to be the only one of your friends and family that does not participate. I will tell you that our experiment has nothing to do with collecting friends on MySpace or about spreading spam via the internet. In fact, we will not be soliciting people past our first initial invite. This is all about word of mouth and playing the 6-degrees game, so we will not beg anyone to be our friend or check our blog. Although, it would help us to get the word out about what we are doing.

So why all the secrecy as to what happens on June 1st? Well, to use an internet related example, have you ever found a crazy funny and truly unique auction on eBay and then the next day as you are trying to show your friends, there are about 200 copycat auctions all trying to cash in on the popularity of this one original auction? Needless to say, copycats will taint what we are trying to do here. So please resist the urge to create a duplicate MySpace page or blog. ;) We know it is going through your head right now, but hey.....there is no money in it for anyone, we promise, unless we aren't seeing something, so it would be pointless. Plus, anything that ever turns into something is surrounded by buzz, so this is our attempt at creating buzz.

Once again, I urge you to spam your friends with our link/URL. Post your own creative anouncements about us, become our street team, make stickers, make t-shirts, sing songs about us, etc, etc. We will be totally flattered, so long as we get the word out about what we are doing. Be part of something bigger than any individual and come hang out with us.
